Chinchillas Make Great Pets Too!
Posted by jessdrosario in Aug 19, 2009, under Uncategorized
Yo!
It’s Jess. I know I’ve been talking about getting a guinea pig a lot, but if you can’t get a guinea pig, or if one of your family members has allergies-which is rare- you can get a chinchilla! They’re pretty easy to take care of, I mean easier than a dog, but probably just as easy as a guinea pig. One cool thing about the chinchilla is that they can jump really high….higher than a kid….as in about as high as up to the top of a nine year old kid’s head. That’s why their cages are so HUGE. They’re pretty cool. Chinchillas need much more space to jump around in than a guinea pig does. Plus, if you want to clean your chinchilla up all you need to do is buy the special sand that you use to shower them in. I’ll give WAY more information later. See ya!

All About Taking Care of Your Guinea Pig
Posted by jessdrosario in Aug 17, 2009, under Uncategorized
Hi!
You probably already know who this is, but I’ll just say it anyway…. it’s Jess. Anyway, I’m going to post on how to take care of your pet guinea pig if you’re just starting off. First of all I would really like to say that guinea pigs are-out of all the rodents(hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas, bunny rabbits, mice, rats)-the most compatible to humans. In fact, their life span is one of the longest also. They don’t need much space, but you should still get a cage that is a good enough size for your guinea pig to adopt to easily and to make itself at home there. Also, if you want to keep your guinea pig and it’s cage clean, I would suggest to clean it’s litter at least every once in a while. For a bedding, you could just use some simple cut up pieces of newspaper or maybe I guess an old sock that you don’t want anymore. The bedding should be big enough for your guinea pig and also, it would me nice to give it a little house to go in or some toys. Usually, for feeding, guinea pigs just need to be fed about once or twice a day. They will eat guinea pig pellets-you can buy them at pet stores-or just little shredded pieces of lettuce. If you overfeed your guinea pig, and your guinea pig starts looking a bit sick, you should probably hold back on the feeding for a little while. Plus, you can let your guinea pig run around in your room for a bit if it looks like it needs exercise, or if you just want to let it play and run around for a bit. But make sure to always close your room door, and when you put your guinea pig in it’s cage again, don’t forget to close the cage door, because if the cage door is reachable for your guinea pig, they can climb out.
I might be talking more about this later to give more information, don’t worry!

Back to School is NOT in My Vocabulary!

Hey Guys!
It’s Jess….again. Anyway, I’m here to talk about getting back to school….THIS IS BAD!!! I’m going to a middleschool this year and have a feeling that I’m not gonna even servive first term. In Canada, there’s only two months of Summer Vacation. But in the U.S.A., well, let’s just say…THEY GET ONE WHOLE MONTH OF SUMMER VACATION MORE THAN US!!! That’s crazytalk! Well, at least in the fall my soccer team gets to go to the City A Championships, I guess I’ll be OK. But only OK.

Yo Everyone!
It’s Jess again! I absoloutely LOVE guinea pigs! And guess what? My mom and dad are FINALLY agreeing on if I should get one or not. I’ve wanted a pet for my whole life. I NEED a pet! The only bad think is, my mom’s a bit allergic to some breeds of dogs and cats. I gotta do some more research on how to take care of them now, just to show my mom and dad how responsible I can be….I hope they raise my allowance for this too. Well talk to ya L8R!

Summer Vacation!
Posted by jessdrosario in Aug 11, 2009, under Uncategorized
Yo Everyone!
It’s Jess. So far Summer Vacation is going great. For most people I guess. But what’s so weird is not many people from Canada visit other people’s blogs. Anyway, I wanted to advertise this place called Flying Pig and so did my brother. He has this shirt that says PIGS FLY on it that he bought from FLYING PIG. FLYING PIG is a white water rafting place in Yellowstone, Montana. My brother also has his own blog. It’s www.mrmohawk.wordpress.com and it just turns out the title is WHEN PIGS FLY. There’s another thing, the hiking trails at Yellowstone, Montana are so cool! But I know that not everyone is the outdoor kind of person. So here are some cool video games and books to keep you company: Animal Crossing City Folk Wii, Animal Crossing Wild World DS, At the Corner of a Universe by Ann M. Martin, The Beacon Street Girls Bad news/ Good news by Annie Bryant, When We Get to Surf City by Bob Greene, Wii Sports Resort, Harvest Moon DS, and PAKRAT!!! No, seriously….PAKRAT is addicting. Also there’s a website that has tons of cool games called www. miniclip.com and also one for girls called www.allgirlarcade.com. Be sure to be active, eat healthy, and have fun! See ya… -Jess
